At the heart of their activities is a profound connection to the land and a commitment to reclaiming ancestral territories. Through educational workshops, cultural ceremonies, and land stewardship initiatives, hi ho stoqošlóq hi xus Chumash Bear Circle aims to "preserve and honor our sacred sites, language, and customs." Their work extends beyond cultural preservation to advocate for Indigenous rights and environmental stewardship, collaborating with local and regional organizations and institutions, including CLAWS, to "protect sacred lands, advocate for Indigenous sovereignty, and promote conservation efforts that align with traditional Chumash values… to forge a brighter future rooted in ancestral wisdom and connection to the land."
